So THAT’S how they did it…..
How come we got “handle” but not “footle”?
His name was Web; but his friends called him The Webster.
Old Texan: not enough people pick things up with their feet.
And of course, they spoke modern English, which wouldn’t exist for thousands and thousands of years. English speaking people like to believe that our words for things are the originals. ;)
