GRAND AVENUE BY STEVE BREEN & MIKE THOMPSON Grandma: Michael, you were supposed to mow the lawn today. Michael: Well, I didn't want to mow too early. Michael: I like to be considerate! Nobody wants to be rudely awakened by a lawnmower on the weekend. Michael: So I wanted to be thoughtful of our neighbors. Grandma: It's 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Michael: What can I say? I'm extremely polite!

I usually wait until the afternoon to mow. It may be hotter outside; but by then the dew has finally burned off and the grass is dry and easier to cut.

I also wait till afternoon or evening to spare the cut ends too much intense sun.
