So whatever did happen to Gretchen (Rover’s sister, Boog’s aunt, Slim and Clovia’s daughter)? Anybody know?

Let’s find a way to winch it back away from the edge, THEN work on it…

Why hasn’t another bus come? Because this is GA and any connection to real life is purely coincidental. The dead cell phone isn’t an excuse any more, because Rover’s is still functional, or was a few days ago. No wonder Walt’s still alive, at the pace this strip moves at. I say put all the characters in the bus, have it fall into the ravine and explode, and get rid of a legacy strip that should have ended years ago.

@Fusnr: That’s right. And school buses are NOT part that stupid “separation of church and state” nonsense!

Why, yes, because I go out of my way to read strips online I hate.

If you don’t like it, DON’T READ IT. Boog’s just a little boy and he could tell you that much.

Where’s Dick Tracy when you need him … and NOW is when we need him!

We don’t need Dick Tracy, we need Superman to fly in, lift the bus to safety and say a polite goodbye to the nice lady and the little children,

Oh wait, this is a fictional town awaiting a fictional character to perform a fictional rescue, what was I thinking!

Best bet here is Rufus and Joel for a dose of reality!

Why can’t children pray in school? They can. Right wingers like to propagate the lie that the Supreme Court banned school prayer. As the law exists today, any child, in any school, can say any prayer, to any god, anytime they want, as long as they don’t interfere with school activities. This is true religious freedom. Not a teacher standing in front of a class leading children in a government approved prayer.

WaitingMan, I absolutely agree with you, but I like it better when folks complain about the glacial pace of the strip (boring though that gets) than when poltics seeps into the comments….

What is it to keep a kid from saying a silent prayer, praying they past the test there about to receive to remember what they studied for.

As for school bus scene prayer’s definitely won’t hurt.

To the ‘haters of the haters’: People (generally) aren’t complaining about the pacing of the strip, give people a great story, it can go on for years without complaint. People (generally) aren’t dragging politics into their criticism - there are dumb people of all political persuasions.

People are complaining about the plot. Scancarelli is a fabulous artist, and no matter how dumb the story, the strip is generally salvaged by some very pretty art that you don’t generally see in newspaper comics.

But like the circus animals that played with Walt for weeks, the Pyes who lived undiscovered in Walt’s house for weeks, and now the bus that is going to hang on the edge of a cliff (with small school children wandering around!)… for weeks - Scancarelli desperately needs to hire a competent writer, he can’t handle the strip on his own - it’s an insult to his own characters that they wander through the stories as clueless as they are depicted.

The only way they will ever ban prayer in school is to eliminate tests and exams……….

GA only has 1 school bus. That’s why another bus is not coming.

I agree that it’s only compulsory prayer that has been outlawed. But do you know how many times ALL prayer has been banned by an individual school or district because their administrators believe that no prayer is allowed? There are several conservative legal advocate groups that are kept quite busy telling these idiots the truth and forcing them to back down. The misinformation isn’t coming from “right wingers”, it’s the ACLU, who send letters to individual schools and districts all over the country threatening lawsuits if they don’t ban all prayer all the time, even though the Supreme Court has clearly stated that student-led prayer is legal and a first amendment right.
