    Might be funnier, and it would certainly be more accurate, if Mikey were fishing with “gators” on his legs. The aquatic reptiles in the United States are alligators not crocodiles.

    I "spoonerized’ this when I first read it, and thought of Steve Irwin: “Look! Crikey! s’got mocs on his feet” Don’t suppose they have water moccasins in Australia, do they?

    There are crocodiles in South Florida. One got as far north as Tampa a while back.

    Parallel j aw line and rounded nose: those are definitely alligators. Croc and caiman taper to a pointed nose, and garelles’ noses are more of a knob. But they have a four-chambered heart like mammals, dinosaurs, and birds, unlike other reptiles with a single ventricle handling both oxygenated and unoxygenated blood at the same time.
