I think the color Janis had in mind was a pigment of her imagination.

That’s fine if she wanted gloss. But if it was to be flat now……

My Mom once woke up at 2 AM and repainted a room because she hated the new color so much. Needless to say, Dad was confused when he came downstairs the next morning.

easier ‘solution’ is to paint the chip in the color you use

Just had 4 rooms painted and one was just amazingly awful. Paint chips should be banned! We did the second coat in a great color!

One of my grand nieces painted her room raspberry.

Paint usually isn´t the color it ends up looking as when it is first added.

I always get a sample jar and put it on the wall in several places. It looks different in light and shadow.

My wife has taken to buying those half pint sample jars to get the right color. I like this idea better!

Hint: paint the chip before you begin. Then you can prove you mixed the color for the wall properly.

It’s a good thing Janice didn’t discover the ruse, or the chip would really hit the fan.

Even if he did get the right one, she will just change her mind and he will have to start over.

Not the little greenish dot near the hollyhock leaf, but the little bluish dot between the rosebud and the delphinium blossom. Is that clear? Now the kitchen is to be white. Not a cold, antiseptic hospital white. A little warmer, but still, not to suggest any other color but white. Now for the powder room – in here – I want you to match this thread, and don’t lose it. It’s the only spool I have and I had an awful time finding it! As you can see, it’s practically an apple red. Somewhere between a healthy winesap and an unripened Jonathan. Oh, excuse me…”

The way she has her arms positioned in panel 5 certainly accentuate her ample bosom.

A painter I know made this suggestion: pick more than one potential color that you like. Ask for a small paint sample then either paint a large patch of a wall with the colors or paint a large piece of paper with the color to hang it on the wall. This will give you a better idea of what you will like and save time and effort.
