Tilt! Your balance is online? You’re a tightrope walker?

(Sorry; I prefer to do my banking the old-fashioned way, in the bank, for the sake of security. Nothing online is ever completely safe or secure.)

my old-fashioned bank never recognizes me either. Probably because as soon as I get to know them they get transfered.

Considering that a bystander was shot during a local bank robbery yesterday, NOTHING is ever completely safe or secure.

Quite an interesting collection on the Frog Blog today. How does one even conceive the idea of eating one’s underwear to pass the breathalyzer test? That is creative thinking. Not good thinking, but creative.

    Hey Teresa,

As long as you’re taking requests for movie stars to feature in the blog, how about Joan Hackett?

    http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0352466/

She died too young. Here’s a screen cap I took from her 1974 film, “The Terminal Man.”

Gotta love that hairstyle, and her generally regal appearance.

Comment on The Blog from Ray the Ineluctable:

Okra, rice, andouille, crawfish (or not…), onions, tomatoes (or not), Cajun spices…mmm. Lots of andouille. More andouille. Okra blossoms are among the most beautiful flowers in the world. The only veggies that grow here in Central Florida in August. Like Mona, best when picked young and tender. I don’t share Teresa’s total passion for okra, but properly seasoned it is the heart of many wonderful dishes.

Jeanette Palmer…oh my!! Where has she been all my life? A perfect combination of lips, shoulders and… Was going to comment on another entry, but can’t remember what it was.

Not smart, but effective - I keep a notebook in the top left corner of my desk entitled, “Logon IDs, passwords, PINs, security questions (and answers)”. It’s a hardbound red logbook…

Edwige Fenech - from yesterday’s blog - the Audrey Hepburn resemblance is uncanny…

@ Ray C - I’ve been flogged, and I’ve been quoted, but I’ve never been cursed. You da man!

P.S. Don’t feel bad. I can’t get elected anything either.

victor1234: Mulla Nasrudin was walking down by the river one day when a traveller hailed him from the far bank, saying “How do I get to the other side?”

The good Mulla replied: “You’re already there!”

I always wondered what happened to Joan Hackett, Flight Suit. I especially remember her in the movie “Will Penny” with Charlton Heston. I used to mistake her for the actress Barbara Parkins.

I was searching for images of her and found a picture of her epitaph that was copied from the note she hung on her dressing room door when she didn’t want to be disturbed.

Sisyphos, I agree with you. We prefer to do our banking in peron. However the above scenario does occur from time to time.

The best way to bank is to cash your checks at the local liquor store and stash your money in obscure places. If you have to pay a bill… get a money order. I hate banks… probably because I don’t have any money, but still, if I did, those #@^%!! would create even more fees to get at it. Interest? Nah.

Marg, I do my banking in Switzerland, but do you think peron might be better? (Sorry. I’m making fun of someone who is all spaced out on painkillers. But it’s not often we can catch Marg like that. When opportunity knocks, we answer.)

Never mind the fact that Teresa has honored me once again by running with my Joan Hackett request; what I’m really excited about now is the appearance on the blog of REPTILICUS!

    http://obituarytypo.blogspot.com/2010/08/ready-aim-fire_19.html

Here is a Reptilicus trailer which I uploaded a few years ago:

    http://www.betterstream.com/video/92/a-death-spouting-mastodon/

This 1961 film holds the distinction of being the only giant monster movie ever filmed in Denmark. Anybody who watched the Monkees TV show as a kid may recognize the monster, as the show frequently made use of footage from the film.

For the Frog’s Record: I hate limp, slimy, fuzzy vegetables. Okra is tolerable in gumbo. Otherwise, use it to patch potholes (as a lost cartoon-panel suggested). Here I stand.

Party at Marg’s tonight! (sounds like she started without us). Marg already has some “refreshments.” Ray C - you bring the okra. Washton’s in charge of the waffles and mashed potatoes (bring extra in case McCartney shows up). aircraft-engineer - bring your Hank Williams CDs. Teresa - is there any of that guy’s underwear left? (who needs a designated driver when you’ve got the right underwear). And, the key to that lock would be sweet, too. Kenny - grab some of your obscurely stashed cash in case any hookers show up (but NO guns - this is FA, not MM (and leave Marg’s cat’s ears ALONE!). Flight Suit will be entertainment director (how about some “art films” instead of Reptilicus vs. The Monkees?) jtpozenel - bring Joan Hackett’s sign. Shytimes2 can hang it on the bedroom door in case she gets lucky. locoowl and ottod - Are your sisters doing anything tonight? The Griner Brothers* will tend bar and “interface” with the cops if things get a little crazy or “You Know Who” crashes and tries to start something *but not Vlad - he scares me. Did I forget anything? Oh yeah - the SPATTERDASHES! (duh) I’ll bring enough for everybody.
