Transcript:
Phoebe: I'm immune to punishment. Dad: Are you now. Phoebe: You can't send me to my room no matter WHAT I do, 'cause my room is temporarily missing! Dad: I could make you disentangle the wad of cables under my desk. Phoebe: I'll be good. Dad: What mysteries lie at the center of the Bermuda Cable Wad?!

Untangling cables is a waste of time. Some unknown power always tangles them up again.

I have tried SOOOO many tricks and nothing disentangles the Bermuda Cable Wad. Stupid me for buying a glass-topped office desk set, to boot.

My husband’s grandfather was the oldest living gadget geek. He was good at it, but back when we still had multiple recorders, sound systems, etc., etc., he got himself into such a tangle it took three strong men several hours to disengage and move his entertainment center (remember those?)

Old-time mainframe cables never tangled, probably because they were an inch and a half thick and weighed about a pound a foot, and, anyway, they were under a false floor.
