Indeed, raceme97. I had a co-worker make quite a fool of herself by announcing to a group of Brits that she had been riding so much the previous weekend, her fanny was sore.
For those who do not know, fanny refers to a part of the anatomy in the same general area as the rear end but unique to the female form. If you know what I mean….and I think you do.
Interesting question. I’ll have to dig through some old B.C. books to see when Queen Ida was first introduced. I would say that she was probably introduced in the 60’s or even possibly the 70’s. Grog, I think, was only introduced in the 60’s
In answer to part 1 of Yukoneric’s question, Fanny is a pet form of the name Frances. (Which in turn is the female form of the name Francis, from which we get Frank.)

Is this a “big rear end” joke or a “one of the party guests ate most of the other party guests” joke?
Either way, I chuckled.

Where did the feminine name “Fanny” come from and why is the human posterior also call fanny?

I have the books from the 50’s & 60’s. No Queen Ida up to that point, but Grog first appears in the 66-67 collection.
