Jimbo: I'm open to suggestions for our weekend getaway! There are craft fairs...flea markets...local museums...
Vicki: How about riding a hundred miles of desolate highway?
Jimbo: Uh... If we did...we'd miss out on the cheese festival.
One year, when my husband & I were married only 1 or 2 years, we planned a vacation. When we left work on Friday, we went to a rest area & picked up one of every single pamphlet they had. When we got home, we sorted them by North, South, East & West (throwing out the obviously uninteresting ones). Each morning we’d pick up a pile and headed in that general direction. Sometimes we actually hit some of the things we had pamphlets for; sometimes we’d fine some interesting little unadvertised thing. One night we didn’t even go home but found a little motel. It was easily the absolutely BEST vacation I have ever had.
The worse flea markets ever are in Oregon, gimme a Calif. flea market anytime! In Oregon you have to navigate through a maze of rust bucket cars and tractors to get to the stuff
Wait. I could be wrong, but I don’t recall Vicki the Biker’s thoughts ever being audible to others. I don’t recall Jim or anyone hearing and responding to V the B’s comments, as he does here. I thought Vicki’s “speech” was all in Rose’s imagination. Is this breaking of that wall a first? Or am I wrong?

Cheese festival sounds like more fun.

Cheese fest would last longer. 100 miles on a desolate highway at MOST is 90 minutes, for Rose’s alter ego, probably less than an hour. :)

I don’t like going to flea markets. I can’t find a collar or leash small enough to fit them.
