And they’re off. It’s much more obvious what they’re going to see in England and even in France than what Tracy wants to see in Iceland. I guess he didn’t tell Junior until now that their first stop will be Iceland.
“Icelanders are avid consumers of literature, with the highest number of bookstores per capita in the world. For its size, Iceland imports and translates more international literature than any other nation.188 Iceland also has the highest per capita publication of books and magazines,192 and around 10% of the population will publish a book in their lifetimes.”
so far this is what, the FOURTH day they’ve spent in the airport terminal? YE GODS at this rate tracy wont get back til Trey is Chief of Police. Nice to see they’ve packed “cement shoes”
If I were a member of Tracy’s family, I’d be worried about the Air Traffic Controller at the airport; he’s probably got his head in a really potent bong, while air traffic gets too saturated.
Of course, Reykjavik is well-known for being the site of the 1972 World Chess Championship between reigning champion Boris Spassky and the young (29), quirky upstart Bobby Fischer. Fischer scored an astounding upset. He lived his last years in Iceland, died in Reykjavik in 2008 and is buried in a nearby town. We ever see Tracy play chess? :)
Volcanoes can be arresting, but cannot be arrested no matter what you or I want.
Volcanoes can’t be arrested, but they are interesting nonetheless. Anyway, Tracy is supposed to be on vacation, so he’s not aiming to arrest anybody or anything on this trip. He ought to at least get through the first stop on his trip without work interfering. Abner Kadaver has landed in London, so at least Tracy is safe from meeting up with Abner in Iceland.
Nice Warbucks private jet! I wonder how many crew it carries? I’m going to guess just three: pilot/captain, co-pilot, and one cabin attendant. Still, it’s pretty fancy for Dick and Tess!Iceland can be considered a very beautiful place to visit, and it is a vibrant county. It should make a fine first stop for the Tracy Family Grand Tour!
For a few years, he hosted the Toronto edition of Reach for the Top on CBC, a television quiz show that I used to watch quite a bit. I’m sure that was good training for Jeopardy. (He even did CBC news and sports on both TV and radio at one time.)
He also hosted (on NBC) the game shows The Wizard Of Odds, High Rollers, and Classic Concentration (which I wish they’d bring back — they should, if they could bring back Match Game and $100,000 Pyramid, which have done well in the ratings in the short time they’ve on).____________________

Seems weird to wait until they’re getting on the plane to ask where they’re going.

Might Tracy’s visit to Iceland be related in some way to Detective Erlendur?
