“Right-wing Libertarian”? Libertarians are pro-choice, support gay marriage, and are generally socially tolerant. How do you get “right wing” from that?

Of course, they also support lower taxes, less regulation and the free market, so they’re not left-wing.

The fact is that two alternatives, left and right, are not enough to describe every political philosophy.

Carmen, we’re all tribes now. Rationality and logic have little to do with our voting anymore.

Public policy aside, Donnie’s biggest problem is that he is an ignorant man. He is also a narcissist who can’t admit that he was ever wrong. The combination is toxic. Even when he has a valid point, he turns it into nonsense.

“But he can’t win.” Not with that attitude.against the most detested major party choices in history, this could be the year…when Libs or Greens win 1 State. We’ll still end up with crooked or repulsive.

Leftists tolerate heinous behavior by their overlords; that is how republicans differ.

No, it’s the republicans that give their criminals standing ovations when they return to Congress. The Democrats fix it so theirs never win again.

Gary Johnson isn’t that Libertarian. When he said he thought people should have driver’s licenses, he was booed by the real Libertarians at the convention.

One point of libertarianism (note, no capital ‘L’) is the belief that we’re all entitled to our own opinions. Just like liberals and conservatives, there are extreme libertarians and pragmatic libertarians. Johnson is a pragmatist. He realizes that the utopia libertarians would like to see isn’t going to happen any time soon. In the meantime, libertarians will get along with liberals on some matters and conservatives on others. He’d make a good president. Certainly better than either of the choices you currently have.
