Earl’s hearing aid battery must be on the fritz.

But is it REALLY a problem or a solution?

He’s pretending and having fun with it.

I seriously doubt Earl considers it a problem; cf You Talk Too Much by Frankie Ford, Talking Woman Blues by Coco Montoya with versions by several others including Albert Collins.

Hoping he’s messing with her and not getting dementia…

If you say anything Earl wants to hear, I’m sure he’ll listen. But you never do, so he won’t. Nor would I in his place.

He does it well.

How come everything Earl mis-hears is about food?

I would say that is Opal’s problem, not Earls.

Many people with hearing aids hear just fine when it is something they want to hear, even without the hearing aids on.

Earl has the selective hearing down to an art

I have a hunch that most women know the difference between hearing and listening.“Did you hear me?”“Yes dear”“Were you listening?”“Not really.”

What? Were you talking?

My wife accused me of having selective hearing. I told her, “That is not true. I hear you now and I don’t want to.”

Women “nag” because men don’t listen.
