Always loved when my dear MIL visited, the quantity of food produced went up—quality stayed the same as my dear wife got her cooking lessons from Mom—Mom just made things seem like there was more. Miss both of those two Ladies with all my heart ! ! ! !
I have a dear friend who is 87 who freely admits she has always been a lousy cook. But her best friend could cook and her friend taught her children to cook – the boys and the girls.
The youngest boy and girl took over the kitchen and life improved for everyone.
So if your female significant other’s cooking does not please you, roll up your sleeves and get cooking.
I am a decent cook but nothing compared to my mother-in-law. My husband’s family is German/Russian so when she uses my kitchen, I not only get good food but incredible foreign dishes as well. My husband enjoys my food (most of the time) but knows that MIL is a better cook. I don’t get offended because I know she is amazing

Oh, so very, very true. Of all the people who’ve passed away, I miss my grandmother the most. She was a marvelous cook and an absolutely incredible baker – especially, breads ! Nobody could rival her Irish soda bread, potato bread or treacle bread. Not only a great cook, but a great mentor, a firm, but loving disciplinarian, a devoted grandmother, and most of all, my best friend, growing up.
My mom used to make dozens of cookies to give out at Christmas, as well as a wonderful carrot bread. When she developed diabetes, she started trying to make sugar free versions, which were not very successful. After that, she pretty much gave up baking. I still remember those Christmas cookies and stealing bits of cookie dough! Miss you, Mom.

Oh, how I cannot wait to try my future mother-in-law’s cooking (as soon as I find my future wife first).

Finally, John knows how to express his appreciation to a woman without putting his foot in his mouth.

In America, time off can be called Vacation, other countries call time off Holiday.

This is proof that the way to a man’s heart is definitely through his stomach.
