I learned from a baker, years ago, if your want to keep breads/baked goods over a long period of time – keep them in the freezer ( wrapped, so they won’t get freezer burn ) but NEVER put them in the refrigerator. Counter-intuitive as it sounds, a refrigerator, because of the ambient moisture, will make bread go stale faster than leaving it out in a breadbox.I keep my loaf of store bought bread in the freezer and take out the slices as needed. A couple of minutes to dethaw and it’s good to go and tastes great.
