The creation of the EU was historic, but not in the way they try to make out. Peace and economic cooperation were already the order of the day, but the EU created a “government” that passed laws limiting what member states could do to protect consumers and the environment, while doing nothing about poverty and corruption in member states. In fact, it institutionalized inequality among the member states.
