I like the pun in the first frame (I like puns anyway) where the familiar phrase “den of iniquity” (iniquity = sin) gets transformed into the “den of inequity” (equity = money that is invested). I’m sure sure if it was a typo or was intentional but it’s kind of clever.
A note yesterday by Mike Curtis regarding yesterday’s strip in Iceland:
Today’s DICK TRACY requires an explanation. In fleshing out the characters in TRACY, I found it easier to give Tracy some of my attributes, The joke is often told on me that i know everyone. So Tracy has met each of the crossover characters before. I decided Tracy was going to visit 221B Baker Street, but that in his world, literary characters are real. And Tracy is going toi meet (of at least visit locations) associated with his favorite charcters. Hence today’s TRACY. I always wanted to see Snaffels Yakul (probably mispelled) and gave that to Tracy. The rest of the vacation stoper are his planning more than mine.
Question: Does Mike or Joe is a smoker or an ex-smoker? In Canada, it is forbidden to show publicity of smoking and I think in the movies too. Why this obsession of smoke?
Coincidentally, there was a question about that truck recently answered in the “Comic Book Legends Revealed” blog over at the Comic Book Resources site – yes, Stephen King’s people did get permission from Marvel to use the Green Goblin’s face on the semi :)
“den of iniquity” only if you think gambling is not approved of.The original "den of iniquity was the temple where people were using it as a marketplace and Jesus called it a “den of thieves,” so the monetary reference is older than the sexual reference. Plenty of Christians do believe that gambling is a sin, while there are also many who do not.
JPuzzleWhiz asked Mike Curtis and I interrupted,I thought Abner and Rikki’s wheels were known as The Death Coach? Or is that a different vehicle?-——————————————————————————-.The Death Coach aka Coiste Bodhar is a completely different vehicle. Abner and Rikki are equipped to handle a variety of situations as required. They are pros!.

The rapidly approaching “Mystery Machine” …
… also reminds me of this rather infamous vehicle.

The Big Boss looks kinda like the guy in the Monopoly trademark. Fitting. Kudos to Neil for being the first to catch the pun.

I actually searched death notices in Trinidad papers. I didn’t find any of his, so that might be a good sign.
