Cheaper to send without water and just as dead..(I was working in the Soyo base at the mouth of the Congo River when some folks moved a pallet only to discover they had set it down on a very small cobra. It was very flat and very dead, but they were afraid to touch it. I was tempted to put it in an envelope and mailing it to my brother, but I was afraid my sister-in-law might open it and not appreciate it.)
This joke appeared years ago, maybe in another strip. I clipped it for the local post office clerk, who loved it. “This is the first time a cartoonist has taken our side!”
