It depends on the age. Little kids should never be allowed alone in a locked room.
Teens should be allowed their privacy (especially in the bathroom). If they have friends over, no locked doors. If they have gf/bf over no closed doors.

Given that the family members are trained to knock and wait for a response before entering, internal door locks in the house are usually unnecessary. This is a simple application of the Golden Rule.
