I agree. “Conjugate your verbs” when getting ready for your first day of school?

The verbs will conjugate themselves, after all they are verbs they do things.

“Conjugate your verbs”? Whatever happened to “Sydney or the bush!”? That’s been good for YEARS! :D

I remember loving the first day because of all the new, shiny school supplies: notebooks, binders, markers and pens unused as yet. And the shock when some teachers (usually math and science) gave us homework—the very first day!!

Maybe I’m an anomaly. I always LOVED the first day of school – new outfit, new school supplies….a chance to meet new friends, new teacher and a chance to reinvent myself beyond being the “kid” I was the year before!

Just don’t let Marcie boil the eggs. She’ll make egg soup.

The first day was all right, as I recall. After that, it took a real sharp turn downhill. And the nightmares never ended; I’m still having them years afterward.

It’s my first day of school, too. I’m only fifty-nine and a half years old.

When asked about the first day of school, my nephew replied with what classes he had, what his schedule looked like and what he thought of his teachers. A full, two-minute conversation

When asked about the first day of school, my niece replied with how many people she knew returned, what they were wearing, who changed the most and what clubs she planned to join. She was still going on at about 100 words a minute a half hour later.

I always liked the first day of school, until the fall after I graduated. (I was not there).

Don’t forget to spell those bees.

My favorite day was always the day after the last day of school.

On his very first day of school ever, our son got up early, ate breakfast, threw on his little backpack like a pro and hopped on the bus without so much as a look back. At the end of the day, he declared it perfect. The next morning we had to wake him up. He said “what for?” We said, “Well, for school, of course.” To which he replied, “Again?”
