I got a cousin in Vancouver. I consider myself lucky.

There was actually a website set up after George II’s re-election, to help US citizens apply for Canadian immigration. Wonder if that site is still up?

I’d like to visit Vancouver one day.

Don’t forget folks, Canada is a British Common Wealth. Just look at who is on their paper money! At least they drive on the right side of the roads, eh? High taxes, and if you are still a US citizen, you still have to at least file, with the IRS! Typically no way out of paying into SS and medicaid/medicare.

If we have political trouble here in the United States — and we do — it’s our job to deal with it, and not run. Fortunately, the Donald will almost certainly be defeated — H.L.Mencken notwithstanding, it IS possible to lose public office by underestimating the intelligence of the great public. But even with the all-too-conservative Hillary Clinton as president, there will be MUCH work for us to do if we want to save the world.

If (God forbid) Trump is elected, it will be more than garden variety “political trouble” here in the U.S. Unfortunately, it’s not easy at all to emigrate to Canada — I know, I’ve done the research. It’s not impossible, but who knows, maybe Justin Trudeau will have a refugee program for us Yanks.

My oldest friend is Canadian, but I can’t go back – Criminal Inadmissibility – little non-violent, non-profit protests things in the 60’s – People’s Park, Morningstar – they kept telling me I pay for it some day! So right, Greatest Gen! But it was worth it, kids.

Whether Clinton or Trump wins, we’re in for four more years of bitter partisan hatred. I’ll be voting for Gary Johnson. He’s fiscally conservative, socially tolerant, he’s promised to put both Democrats and Republicans in his cabinet, and he’s the only rational, decent human being in the race. He’s the only hope for bringing this country together.

Why not Mexico? Easier, cheaper and warmer.

The good news is that after this year’s campaigns, any future Republican candidates will appear reasonable…

The best thing that could happen for the US is that all you who threaten to leave over this election, actually pack your bags and do it. Go ahead, your whining will not be missed.

The Vancouver housing market is very expensive right now.In Seattle they are building condos as fast as possible.

Vancouver is very nice. Things will be fine under Hillary, I have no intention of moving.

3 bedroom in Vancouver will set you back $1.5M+ We live in New Westminster, about 20 km from Vancouver proper, and our 3 bedroom was assessed at over $1M this year.

Why do the people who say if Trump wins they are moving to Canada? They never say Mexico, what are they Bigots?

Moving to Canada is, of course, running away from America when it needs you. If the country is headed by an unbalanced president who cannot attend to a problem for more than ten minutes, then it will need every thinking person, left and right, to stay here and work to save the country.,

It would be great if all the liberals flee the country after Trump is elected. Alas, I suspect most of them are bluffing.

Trump and his allies are using the methods of Putin to discredit their opponents and critics.

@dwdl21 Vancouver is a satellite city, it depends on strong tech and entertainment economies and trade between first the US and then other foreign nations along the Pacific Rim. It’s steady growth is due in large part to becoming “North Hollywood” and an extension of the US West Coast tech hub – the California through Washington states. The ‘weaker’ Canadian dollar makes labor, goods, production and housing more attractive, along with one of the most accommodating cultures to the US in the world. With housing costs in Silicon Valley skyrocketing, even the exorbitant rates in VC, BC are much more affordable, along with technology that makes remote working a reasonable proposition (co-workers and/or companies purchase homes in pairs then swap/share between them when needed in one location or another).

I have very little for sympathy for Jeb Bush…until I think of how unworthy Trump is of the nomination of any major political party.

I am so glad we renovated our vacation house in Parksville, BC. I have passed my Canadian Licensing exam and our passports are ready and if we have to extend our holiday, then so be it. But the way things look now, probably not.

I would reverse the feeling/thinking labels on the candidates. Trump is trying to use the feeling of fear to keep the voters from thinking. “They’re rapists! They’re murders!” Remember, the Tea Party is suspicious of intellectuals, and Hillary strikes me as too wonky.

Jack’s World couldn’t (successfully) insult anybody with five time bombs and six flame throwers. As for Tom Hyland, currently Trump is snuggling up to the war-criminal, Putin, yes, but I had more in mind his praise for Saddam Hussein, who “only” killed half as many people as Assad has (so far…..)
