At least two faces in the rocks, with a possible other two.

All of them look better than the mug the caveman on the right has to live behind (at least until tomorrow).

The day after that, Thak discovered that his bow’s pleasantly musical tone could be greatly improved if he put one end on a hollow gourd. By the next day he had invented the first harp, took on the stage name of Jubal, and started wooing the ladies with greater success than he’d ever dreamed possible.

The hills look kinda stuck up with their noses in the air and all.

…So boys and girls, that is why today cartoonists represent the sound of an arrow striking something as “THAK!”, in honor of its inventor. (Although some cartoonists have spelling issues and sometimes use THWACK)

Is there a reason for only 4 digits on each hand/foot? Other than cartoonist license??

All I have to say is thank you Thak I love your invention.

Terry, he is very clearly about to get Thak’s point. I wonder if Thak’s nemesis is named Thik?

I see the stone-faced bystanders–they don’t get the point, and don’t seem to worry if they might.

I think that hands with only three fingers and a thumb are 40% easier (and cheaper) to draw. I also note that they have only four toes per foot…At least Thom is consistent.

And this is where global warming began, the arms race.

Theory on four fingers: more realistic looking in spite of number of digits

Four fingers or toes because it’s easier and quicker to draw than five. It’s a time saver for daily cartoonists.

if you’re really angry, invent the flamethrower, bolo or atl atl - all devices to hurt someone from a distance away spear’s good too

I like the Lion head seen off the superior part of the bow.
