Isn’t Phoebe a little young for the Simpsons, or whatever parody of it the nostrilverse has?

Nice comeback. You’re only old when you want to feel old.

Hey, from Rocky and Bullwinkle to Mordecai and Rigby (The Regular Show). From The Mighty Heroes to Teen Titans GO!, I’m been watching cartoons even since our mom put me, my little bro, and our baby cousin in front of a TV (6 feet away, of course) in 1962!

Don’t argue, Daddy-O. You will miss these moments when they’re just memories.

I used to tell this one to my nephews:

Once upon a time there was a nephew who asked his uncle for a story, so he said:

"Once upon a time there was a nephew who asked his uncle for a story, so he said:

“Once upon a time there was a nephew who asked his uncle for a story, so he said:

    Uncle Jimmeeeeeeee!

So he ended the story and they lived happily ever after.”

So he ended the story and they lived happily ever after."

So he ended the story and they lived happily ever after."

Then my wife would yell at me for not actually helping.

Once upon a time…they lived happily ever after. The end.

The stuff in the middle is just filler.

Well, there are cartoons and there are cartoons..When I was Phoebe’s age we didn’t have stuff (I use the term loosely) like Family Guy or South Park. True, such things as Fractured Fairy Tales were not entirely “kiddish,” but there was nothing obscene or profane in them. Those older cartoons could be funny without obscenities or worse..Kim Possible used to have occasional references to movies or songs that grown-ups would remember and kids would probably not have known. Some other shows were also like that. Even My Little Pony/Friendship is Magic makes similar plays on words or scenes that are not exclusively childish..There are cartoons, and then there are cartoons.

The thing about cartoons, most of them are better than 95% of the stuff on TV that is not a cartoon.
