    As this old timer recalls, report cards were signed by the parents and returned to the school so how did he find some of his dad’s old report cards?

    herdleader1953Some districts practically had a transcript from first grade on (this was before kindergarten was provided in public schools).

    Cleaning out my Grand-Aunt’s house. I found her report cards from 1st-12th grade. 1923-1936 including her immunization card for starting 1st grade. Only 2 “B’s” in the whole lot. 1 in 7th grade Social Studies and 1 in 9th grade History.

    We’d bring ours home the last day of school, and have classmates and friends autograph the envelopes (ca 1967-73).

    This must be an advance strip. Labor Day is more than 2 weeks away, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania schools don’t start until after it.
