I too have a pet buried on my property. Actually two pets. One is buried in a flower bed and the other in my vegetable garden. I know those two will not be dug up as long as I live here, and the graves are clearly marked so whoever owns this house after me will know that there are bones in those spots.
Gracious – if they’d have just had her cremated and then buried her…. ew on burying an entire animal body in the yard..We cremated my Dad’s little buddy and buried her ashes just in front of his headstone. And Arlo – rent a mini excavator, you’re not a young man!
Presently have 5 cats buried about the back yard, the dogs we’ve had were all >100# so they were cremated. These things happen when you’ve lived in a home 40 years.
We have several pets buried in our yard and also have a tombstone from a human baby (long story). When we are long gone, new owners will have lots of questions!

Is a water feature really a compelling enough reason to exhume the deceased?

I think he accidentally dug Fluffy up doing the pool dig and reburied her in panel 4.

When burying a pet you find there’s A LOT more dirt in the hole than you ever imagined! And, it’s A LOT harder to dig than you thought it would be.

We buried two of our cats near the “baby” oak we planted in the yard many years ago. We like to think they are part of it now.
