“Stand up to bullies, and they will back down,” they told me in grade school. I never saw it work. Not ever. I think some adults forget what it feels like to be bullied. Watterson spends 4 days on this story, but doesn’t add much to the conversation. Still, there is a happy ending…
I was bullied a lot in my childhood, but never about money. It was always always verbally for being myself, and on a few ocassions psychically. The most popular girl asked me nicely for money, and years later I realized she was just using me. That’s how naïve I was.
I am picturing a scene in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace where Qui-gon and Obi-wan were traveling with Jar Jar Binks in an aquatic car. Just when a monster fish was about to eat the car, a bigger monster stepped in and ate the small monster. This was where Qui-Gon said one of my favorite Star Wars quotes, “There’s always a bigger fish.” I would love to see something like this happen to Mo.
Please point out where it says anything about “a free, public education”. Or about education at all. Or anywhere that it uses “free” in the sense of “no cost”.

I wonder if Calvin’s Dad knows that some of his hard earned income is going into Moe’s pocket?

Don’t worry about Moe; with today’s “No Child Left Behind” initiatives that GED and gas station position is almost a certainty.

@leadingedge No. It’s not. Politics doesn’t belong here!
I think he meant Donald Duck; now that fowl was a real bully to Mickey.

A good, swift kick in the oompa-loompas works wonders for the attitude. No point in fighting fair with a bully.
