I admit I don’t get “banalma.” Banana + ?

What’s happened to this strip? It used to have funny situations and characters, even story arcs. Now it’s just panel after panel of puns and wordplay. Lately I’ve been getting bored after just a panel or two, even in the daily comics.

I’ll have what Danby’s smoking.

@Diat60 and @gothic_beauty: But this strip used to be about Garfield, Jon, and Odie—er, I mean, Bucky, Rob, and Satchel…and how they interacted. There were plots and stories and funny-named cats and dogs visiting all the time. It was fun to read! Now it’s just puns and misunderstood wordplay. It’s just not as enjoyable to read.
