Exactly what I did finally, and now it makes more sense. Sometimes we must see a story in hindsight, instead of foresight.

It seems clear that Bribery’s concern is not for Pat Patton as such, but rather for the reckless (that’s the key word!) insubordination by Rikki, who has now become a loose cannon (almost in the literal sense). What Professor Glitch brings to the table of death, as it were, remains to be seen. How will he “take care of” it, as Bribery has ordered?…
