A Congressman. He had to spend most of the morning soliciting contributions.

I did some work as a contractor in a government office. I noticed so many people got to their desks on time, proceeded to 1. have breakfast, 2. read the newspapers and then after taking a long time with this, managed to 3. hit the toilet for quite a long time.Somewhere in between the AM and the PM, most went out of the building for long walks and shopping. But everyone checked in in the AM on time and checked out in the PM on time.

Work? they did do something there….

Funny, I worked for the government and it was the contractors who were slackers. I guess it depends on who is telling the story.

I find this a slap in the face to myself and other dedicated government employees. I worked for the FAA for thirty years and worked many unpaid hours in addition to my regular paid hours. Sure, there might be a bad apple in any category of employees but a broad stroke like this accompanied by the snide comments is an insult to the government employees that keep this country running and safe.
