The most successful conspiracy is the one to convince everyone that there no conspiracies and all conspiracy theories are bunk.
Nixon extended the Vietnam war as part of a conspiracy. Enron was a conspiracy. The both the unofficial and official explanations for 9/11 are conspiracies. The American Revolution was a conspiracy. WWII was a conspiracy with corporations like GE supporting HItler. (GE was fined $10,000 after the war for supporting the enemy—which generated an estimated $300,000,000 in profits for them. Ford successfully sued the US government for reparations for the manufacturing plants they had in Germany, making vehicles for the Germany army, which were bombed during the war.)
Bush II was so confident that he seldom bothered to even try to hide the illegal actions of his administration, essentially telling the American people that, yes, it was illegal, but that he was doing it anyway…
Trump promotes the assassination of his opponent should she win the election…
Magician’s Advantage: It’s easiest to fool intelligent, experienced people. If you point at something, adults will look at it. Small children will look at the hand that’s doing the pointing. Dogs will walk up to the hand holding the bird and sniff it.
It is the opposite. The uber elite distract you with bathrooms, emails, gorillas, still very rare violence, etc. etc. so you don’t pay attention to real issues.

MaizingAbsolutely. The classic example is in the federal court record: how General Motors, Firestone, and Standard Oil used shell companies to buy up and destroy streetcars, forcing municipalities to use their products instead of something more environmentally responsible.

Yes, you actually need to watch your mustaches, sheeple!

Actually, why not? John Keel suggested as much about UFOs back in 1969, that they were only a distraction from what is really going on …

I hate to be the one to say it, but there could an awful lot going on under THOSE noses.

The major damage conspiracy theories do is to convince us that there are never any conspiracies.
