    Also check local laws and codes, foraging is illegal in some places, and restricted in others due to over-harvesting of the wild plants and fungi.

    Purslane is delicious, oxalis is great in salads, and young dandelion leaves make a great saute with butter, garlic, and lemon.

    Yeah, there’s some places where it’s just not safe to be foraging. You don’t know what’s out there, you don’t know what’s contaminated what, and if you end up on private property you could be in trouble in a hurry. If you aren’t growing it for yourself, or you don’t know the person who is growing it well enough to have gotten permission from them, it’s best to leave it alone.

    where does this person live? there are no vacant lots where i live. land is too valuable.
