I thought Bellowthon bore a distinct resemblance to a current Presidential candidate, and I don’t mean the woman candidate.

A thought came to me last night. If Abner is somehow still alive. I don’t think he will take too kindly to how Bribery treated Rikki. In a future story arc we may see a confrontation between those two. That would be verrrry interesting! :-)

I hope she remembers that both of them are American citizens. Mysta is natural born. Honeymoon? That’s a good question. I say she is, but I see that there could be room for discussion.

Rep. Bellowthon is apparently going to make Mysta and Honeymoon into illegal aliens, or something of that nature. Tracy cannot be on her security detail. He has a clear conflict of interest with her.

Are Mike and Joe making a political statement by making Bellowtrump look like a fat pig on wheels?

I hope not.

A “vessel” at sea (or by extension in any international zone such as in space) is legally under the jurisdiction of it’s country of registry or origin. So if Honeymoon was born on the Space Coup (you’ll have to tell me that), it would seem she’s natural born. In any case, she would be a US citizen by birth since her father was and is American.

Mind you, citizenship has not always stopped a fearful government, thinking of the Japanese internments as featured in this strip in the past.

Don’t worry too much Tracy, this is pretty much another Do Nothing Congress. Any proposed bill would have to be approved by both the House and Senate and then signed into Law by the President.

Egad. I’m interested to see how this bigotry is dealt with. I’m sad to see this in the strip, but it happens in life. Hopefully we get a happy ending here.

“Bellowthon” might be a double pun, it’s also close to “Bellerophon,” which was Morbius’ colony ship from FORBIDDEN PLANET.

Bizarrely, last night’s episode of “The Simpsons” involved Lenny & Carl using super soakers filled with lemonade & iced tea to fire ARNOLD PALMERS into Homer’s mouth.

Wonder if Mike’s been watching reruns of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” lately, as this storyline might potentially cover much of the same ground as the season two episode “The Measure of a Man.”

I like the developing plot!

Yesterday I expressed my hope that this had the makings of a traditional Dick Tracy detective story, with the introduction of a quirky new character who seems to be up to no good. Now I find that it is more moon nonsense. (I know I’m in the minority on this point) (Sigh) Maybe it will be some of both.

Bellowthon looks more like Flaky Biscuits to me.

Mysta’s legal status in particular is unique, as she’s technically an augmented or enhanced human whose DNA has been ‘overwritten’ through medical means.

That really shouldn’t have any direct bearing on her status as a U.S. citizen.

“6947” is also the number of the American Airlines flight from Santa Ana to Seattle.

Chief Patton really should reconsider his assignment of Tracy to Congressthing Blowhard’s security detail. There is a conflict of interest with her signature piece of proposed legislation, H.B. 6947. Tracy was certainly taken aback by the TV interview….I wonder how Selfy fits into this story-mix?

And they can simply go be species but that would leave out the one who was born in the USA and should technically be one even with her genome shifting. However courts are run by people who have little to none about science of any sort. Are they right to make such decisions?-And anyway it is the other Selenites who are on Earth secretly who they will find out and have to deal with. Just consider them emigres.
