Intelligent life is a matter of definition. As a species how intelligent we are is up for grabs as we are likely to be a very short lived species in the big picture.
The chance of advanced life developing on Earth is now 100%, since it did indeed happen. But really, you’re just the far end of a probability curve. Nothing mysterious. The universe is so large that, for one incredibly brief time or another, something like this had to happen. You only think it’s special because it produced you to think it’s special. In the blink of a cosmic scale eye, it will be gone, leaving not even a ripple in the universe. So don’t spend time worrying about stuff. When you die, you and the universe will cease to exist, but for now, your life is the only game in town. Play with it.
I have spent my life as a scientist/technician and have come to the conclusion that there are limits to what we can comprehend; at least at this point in our evolution. To argue for or against the existence of God is just as pointless as arguing about the beginning of the multiverse. It comes down on either side of the arguments as a matter of faith.Science and religion are actually compatible IF you stop trying to make one justify the other.

If God created everything out of nothing, then who created God? Was he created by the human mind or perhaps by an explosion?

I love the way @exoticdoc2 et al, have skewed a comic comment about a feline furball into a theological polemic.
Puhleeze ! It’s a funny strip. Don’t try to make it a religious apology.

When a cat is sitting in your spot you pick up the cat, sit down and cuddle the kitty on your lap.

In the multiverse of possibilities, we are so far out on the fringes of improbability that there’s nothing more normal than feeling weird.
