Hillary Clinton is a standard politician, not very different from Obama. So, why does Wiley uncritically echo the meme that she’s so unpopular?.The actual reason for such “unpopularity” as she suffers is that the right wing has attacked her over and over. And the Republicans have investigated her over and over and over. (Finding nothing.) And they all have repeated “dishonest Hillary” over and over and over and over. And if you repeat a lie enough times, the ignorant (a large majority) will believe it.

The US Presidential Election is the greatest show on Earth. It seems to be a combination of “Survivor” and “Game of Thrones”. Out here in OZ, the Big Debate was the 2nd top story yesterday.

Right. That would work. Just Veto everything and make them work together to get anything passed. Enforce the laws already on the books and make them repeal or replace the ones that don’t work and live with the ones they don’t like until they do something about it.You know… just generally execute the laws of the land and such, being more of an administrator and less of a ruler.

Yet, while all this is happening, the Republicans prove their absolute mastery of political selflessness by once again playing the only card in their deck: the last minute ‘rescue’ of the country from a government shut down.Of course, for them a ‘government shut down’ means that all the ‘essential government operations,’ i.e., capital restaurants, hair salons, shoe shine parlors, dry cleaning, medical offices, etc, will continue to function at their most efficient level during the ‘crisis.’Amazing the effect of only 60+ yeas of indifferent government on the ‘grand experiment’ in human freedom that was once the envy of an entire world. Pity.

It does appear to be getting more difficult to parody the circus going on in DC. The debate made perfectly clear who will be able to serve as President & not make the USA a mockery to the rest of the world. Cap’n Eddie for President 2020

Mark_SMy first thought was was, who gets the nukes? But it wouldn’t matter, Putin would let his buddy/puppet have some to wipe out California as soon as he took office..J. R. MaddenI suspect Theodore Roosevelt was the healthiest, not Sniffles, the Whiner. Well up in years, after reforming the New York police department, being governor, collecting specimens for several natural history museums, being vice-president and president, running for president again including a two-hour speech with a bullet in his chest, being defeated and then exploring the River of Doubt in Brazil (now Rio Roosevelt), I hardly think a questionable letter from a questionable doctor is needed.

There is still time to begin an internet campaign to write in Chris Rock with Laurence Fishburne as Vice President. If it is all going to be a show, we may as well have accomplished actors in the starring roles.

KaffekupThey weren’t even riding; the barbed wire at the foot of Kettle Hill stopped them. By the time they reached San Juan Hill, the 24th Infantry had not only captured it, but brought up the band’s instruments and serenaded the 1st Vol. Cavalry with their regimental song, The Bear Went Over the Mountain. It wasn’t a health issue, but while TR congratulated the black infantry at the time, racial politics later forced him to take another view. Some can be physically brave and still morally a coward.

She IS unpopular. And so is Trump. The USA has had a pretty much 50/50 split between the two parties for many elections. But there has not been an election within memory where each 50% violently DESPISED the other candidate as they do in this one.

    Some of us despise both.
