That’s the thing….not that I, personally, have found it to always be true….
Researchers say that in general, when presented with another person’s problems, women tend to offer sympathy, whereas men are more likely to give advice…or even try to take over the situation. It’s a common source of misunderstanding or arguments between men and women.A man will even say “Well, do you want me to help or not?” in exasperation…while a woman may find that bewildering.Men are taught that they MUST fix everything…whereas women are taught to be nurturing but not controlling.(Not sure that worked all that well with me,)Tony must be familiar with the dichotomy…. cos his question today is“It was one of those times?”Well, yeah…
I have found that it is ok to try to fix things, but first , sympathize. In addition it would be better to not phrase it as if you are trying to fix things. For example,
That Marge! What a witch!. How are we going to get her back? You know, when you really think about it, maybe she can’t come up with something on her own and is just paying you a compliment.
I don’t know, does that sound any better, or still sound like he’s trying to fix things?
@Tony:It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. (Ain’t I just the Dickens? LOL) And now is the best time to ask today’s…Second “Daddy’s Home” Question:Are you a talker or a listener?
some these comics are cute. but even though we have a stay at home dad, he doesn’t really seem to do any housework or real childcare. plus, rubio and markstein seem stuck in pretty gender normative characters and rely on tired, funny in the 1940s humor.i’m finding the comic more of tiresome annoyance than a nice, occasionally humorous distraction. bye.
