In the 1930s, street sweeper Joseph Figlock of Detroit, Michigan, had a baby fall on him from a window while working- twice! Both children survived thanks to Figlock breaking their fall! A restaurant in the British theme Park Alton Towers delivers your meal by roller coaster! It does all of it! Mary and Ivor Waite from the West Midlands, England, are still using a German-made 1925 vintage Piccolo Vacuum Cleaner that also paints, grind coffee, minces meat and has never broken down.

If you don’t mind mixing your food and coffee with all the dust you just vacuumed up.

Wouldn’t want to grind my coffee or mince some meat after doing some painting.

It probably has a separate compartments for the dirt, paint and food with different containers & blades of some kind for the coffee and meat.

Maybe they were aiming for the garbage can.

No surprises here. They didn’t have planned obsolescence back then, things were built to last, not to break down to sell more each year.

I’m assuming that the vacuum cleaner motor still turns and moves some air, but the seals between suction and discharge are quite worn after all that time. Might make noise and move a bit of air, but probably doesn’t have enough ooomph to run the paint sprayer anymore. Parents insist on using their 65 year old Electrolux. I took my new vacuum to their house and it pulled almost a gallon of fine sand/dirt out of their carpet. I tried to show them that although, when I was a child, that old thing could lift a up sofa cushion, now it can’t lift a side pillow.

German made 1925-vintage Piccolo vacuum cleaner that also paints, grinds coffee, minces meat and has never broken down. (1925 – 2016)-That was a common service with those machines; multipurpose. Kirby vacuum cleaners had that same capacity for decades. Called attachments to connect to the motor.

That’s the problem with today’s appliances – not built to last!

Just what kind of parents did those babies have?!?!?! What kind of parent takes their eyes off their baby when they could fall out of an open window?!?!?
