Hi Bev. I hope you had a good trip.

Freddog and I are headed out this morning for a road trip over 2 high sierra passes further north (Sonora and Carson for those who know the area) to see the aspens. We did’t get out backpacking all summer so really looking forward to the solitude of sleeping alone in the wilderness. 30% chance of light rain, so we will have to put up the tent instead of sleeping under the stars.

Got to the shelter yesterday morning to do some volunteer time.I know, kittens in shelters is not a good thing, but i still had fun.A small room with kittens and a later-pointer is one of the best ways in the world to blow off some stress.

Not for hire.Just for fun.

And, BTW, Nighthawks at Cleo and Company (Sherpa) designed and paid for the door sticker.

Posted last night about “the egg”. Brad cracked it open and it was just a regular egg. I don’t know where the hairs in the crack came from.

CATS, especially kittens, need to be socialized by interaction with humans. Anyone who runs a shelter that has volunteers and won’t allow them to play with the kittens should be FIRED!! Been there, done that!

I thank everyone for the nice comments yesterday after I had posted my pics. I saw the comments today and I had to acknowledge them with appreciation.

Welcome back Beviek – you were missed. Love your kitty pictures. I do have Paws for Thought in my line up – it often gives you ‘paws for thought’. jessegooddoggy – you and Freddog have a nice trip. Sounds relaxing. Happy – that van looks great. Kudos to nighthawks. bbear – funny stuff! QueenofAmerica – thanks for the update on the egg. I was curious how it would come out.

Great pictures, bbear! I especially love “When a cat wants to nap…” with knocked over lamp. That cat looks a lot like my Ike. Also love “Let’s plant catnip.”. I’ve seen that picture here before, but still love it. I’ve never seen so many cats congregated together at once. My 21 cats won’t gather together like that. I do find as many as 8 or 9 cats on my bed on a chilly morning though.

I just scrolled more – the "cats who eat prunes picture was really funny too!

I agree with all about the interaction of humans and kittens. We are fostering a feral kitten right now and it’s just been two weeks and it is coming around. Finally got it to purr and it’s eyes cleaned up. So many cats around here have URI and very bad eye infections. Took us 15 mins just to get one eye to open, lots of gunk came out. Only a matter of time till it was blind. Takes a lot of work..so many kittens need lots of help. We are fostering 8 right now. Getting them ready for adoption. I will post a pic of the new player “Muffin” soon. Beautiful Calico. Great stuff today folks thanks for the smiles.
