We’ve been here all along, for some people it just took a bigger shove to notice how bad the GOP has become. They nominated W and stopped Obama for eight years. They have not been concerned with America for a very long time. If nothing else, Trump has turned a light on the fact that the GOP is not for the little guys (unless those little guys really hate minorities or women)
Years ago there was a joke magazine that had dungeon and desert island cartoons all through it. I guess there are a lot of good jokes involved in those 2 memes.
The only way we will ever fix this is to change our election process. The campaign should be six months max, the amount of money needs to be curtailed, and all these PACs should be outlawed. They are all a front for spending tons of money to support a candidate who will do what they want. Congress people might actually work on the countries issues rather than having to raise money all the time and court those with money..
I’m going to show my age but….. this reminds me of one of the “ROAD” movies where Bob Hope was adrift at sea making an impassioned speech to Bing Crosby. He was hoping it would win him an academy award.
Parallel lines won’t work, too many would go through houses. Require them to be along natural boundaries: navigable rivers, mountain crests, etc., or other things that separate people: interstate highways, aqueducts, multitrack rail lines, regional to international airports, etc. Require the highest to lowest population variation be within 5%. Have the boundaries as compact as possible (ban any noticeable extension out from the district, unless the entirety of a peninsula). University sociology or urban planning departments have done this as an academic exercise many times. It is feasible if we are to have honest elections
.
I hate to have to walk 50 miles to vote. Schools are closer than that, use them. You need to be more specific on who can vote: US citizen and over 18. I know the census registration covers that, but in those ten years, a rather large number become citizens or 18. In writing a law, you must err on the side of redundancy.
Reminds me of the Red Skelton TV show, wherein certain guests that he’d share a “skit” with would forget their lines ! One I remember well was with Raymond Burr who played Perry Mason on TV.
How different it would have turned out, if we had taken all the Democratic superdelegates and sent them over to the Repubs. We’d have Sanders against someone other than Trump.

Republicans are 40% of voters. 75% support Trump which is 30% of voters. That is a lot of sad people who must live lives of great desperation!!!

This is why you need to take good notes. You have to write stuff down, or you will forget what you were doing, wait, what was I talking about?

Perhaps the “director” will send you a script in a bottle.

You see a lot of cartoons involving people crawling through the desert, and also lost in the jungle, in a pot, surrounded by cannibals.
