The Buckets by Greg Cravens for November 13, 2016

If you could have one superpower- flight or invisibility- which one would you pick? Easy! Flight superpowers that make you blind are worthless. Who said anything about blind? If you are invisible, light would pass straight through your whole body. Including the retinas of your eyes! If light can't land on an opaque retina, there's no way for you to see. So... The invisible man... Is totally blind. No way for his eyes to work. Hmm. I need to consider all that. I'll get back to you. Wuh... We... We'd just hafta get a seeing-eye dog! Right? Garry- even if the dog got you into a girls sleepover party, is he gonna describe everyone?

She’s pretty smart. But also a bit of a downer.

Whoa….. Sheila just blew my mind with her theory on invisibility. I like her!

Sheila obviously took just the least dim of the lot – until the younger brother is old enough. There is far more potential in Eddie.
BTW: I’m still deeply disappointed, that the colourist switched her skin colour. This really doesn’t fit to the overall tone of this comic.

She might as well shoot down flight, too. Humans don’t have the right physiology to be able to fly.
If it’s a super power, it don’t have to obey no stinkin’ laws of nature! :-)

I have always wanted to fly.
So it would be flight for me.

Yes! Most excellent reply. They have front legs AND wings! There’s got to be a way to work that into a comic strip. On the other hand, I’m gonna have a terrible time convincing everyone to start drawing angels and superheroes with insect wings instead of feathery ones.

Hmmm, food for thought from Sheila & from many of my fellow commenters. How about the power to alter reality with a thought?

Most supheroes seem to fly with something akin to telekinesis or by mehanical means (jetpack, power ring, stc.). Invisibility may only involve the “visible” spectrum, allowing a person to use other wavelengths to see. Or it may be a psychic effect. I believe Susan Richards (Invisible Girl of Fantastic Four fame) had an explanation for her abilities, but that escapes me at the momemt
