If Gil’s had smaller players at tight end, he must have really been desperate. I would rather have a sophomore get his confidence crushed than have Heather get her ribcage crushed. This is insane.
Honestly, I’ve seen players smaller myself: a number of them on the hometown HS football team, which so far this season is undefeated. Some of those boys are SCRAWNY
That isn’t all that small for a high school player, although TE might be a stretch, which the coaches apparently don’t think she can do. As a matter of fact, she’s living a little large for a high school girl. Baby got back!
Will Mo, Larry and Curley in P1 come up with a solution? And what is Pedro thinking after seeing P3? Stay tuned next week!
It’s not just size. It’s muscle mass, speed, upper body strength and a host of other factors. As was pointed out before, if Heather is such an exceptional athlete that she can compete with boys, she wouldn’t be losing her job on the soccer team. Even if her skills were so-so, that kind of strength and speed would make her a beast on any high school team.
P-1: Apparently, all three coaches have a thing for tallish petite girls. Kaz is even lobbying. P-2: Wow, now there’s two lobbyists. Is this school now in D.C.? P-3: Just what is Mimi implying by “had” and is Gil responding to the wrong meaning? (Notice today it’s Mimi with the Freudian beverage glass. Are R&W trying to turn this into an Art film?)
What’s with the conversation where they discuss things they already know/already decided, AFTER they’ve had her practice with the team? It’s like the writers decided to put this one out there to address all the questions we’ve had in the comments. And speaking of comments, feel free to comment on today’s Mopped Up Thorp.
How idiotic. Why not just tell JV players ""hey! YOU suck so bad that we are putting a girl who has never played a down in her life out there instead of you"
Back in the 60s most HS football players were not very big. We were state champs 3 years in a row in our state’s class D mostly due to having some players over 6 feet and 200 lbs.Our coach placed the 3 of us all on the Defensive line, we only played Defense, but usually being about 6 inches taller and about 100 pounds heavier than other kids in Class D, we did not lose a single game in 3 years. Also had a receiver that was already 6’6" For 3 years we romped over every other Class D school in the state. Then we graduated and the sports teams were once again populated with smaller kids.

Play JV? I thought the entire reason they approached her was to fill a slot on varsity.

Even the coaches are arguing about how dumb this arc is

Putting Heather Burns in a spot a JV player can play will really increase their confidence.Mimi needs to tell Gil this is a dumb-ass idea.

In all reality , Why does Mimi get to control the remote ? She’s making Gil watch the Hallmark Channel Christmas Movie Marathon .

They’ve discounted the idea of her playing “Jayvee” because she is a senior so what are some of you questioning that she’s going to play Jayvee?

Milford will be playing a team called the Sharks and Heather will pull a Fonzie and jump over a Shark.

Sure Gil, take a break. Sit back and relax. It’s not you who’s going to be broken in half at TE.

This is just about the most stupid thing I ever seen. New level of stupidity and ignorance for even R&W. However, I did not criticize the artwork.

Or mention “TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD”.
