I get to spend 4 hours driving my mother to my sister’s for Thanksgiving. And then 4 back. She did not vote the way I did (or my sister and her husband). Her first words to us after the election was “so, when are you moving to Canada?” It is difficult for for me to have a regular conversation with her. This is going to be an interesting holiday.
I had a chance to take a cruise right after the elections, but the only ones that fit my itinerary/time frame had post-election well-known political groups on them [not together on the same cruise]. I decided to wait for next year and avoid the tension. Now, I’m very glad I did.

It isn’t the beliefs that bother me. It is the blind faith in either candidate and a refusal to look at facts that is annoying.

I applaud you making fun of political beliefs without supporting/trashing any one view. (Except to sorta trash Jill Stein, of course. Which is OK)

So true. Some friends have even volunteered their support for friends who have a politically strained family holiday. Sigh.
