Hahahahahahah- one of the funniest ones ever. I love the interplay between these two- Calvin’s a mouthy little turd, but he always gets what’s coming to him.
In an old Warner Brother cartoon, Daffy Duck set himself up for a major trouncing (he excelled at that). Bugs Bunny pans to the viewer and says “It CAN’T be that easy…” Calvin just had himself a “bunny” moment. I can’t blame him for not being able to resist. maybe it was worth the pounding.
Suzie has no reason to be even thinking about bodily fat in beauty terms. But our sick society makes it plain they do. You need fat for your brain, “fat head” is really a good thing. Your body uses up to two-thirds of your carbohydrate consumption for your brain alone. Think of all those fat-free and low to no carb-eaters out there starving their brains.
It took me a second to get the joke here – slow on the uptake today. So susie is “fat” – yeah, I would have had a hard time passing up a straight line like that too!
re – comment yesterday from B Hill – I love the old Warner Brothers cartoons too (I’m 58). There was nothing wrong with them. We knew they were cartoons and that the coyote could not really survive a fall off the cliff and that none of the so-called “violence” was real. I loved all the old carttonn from Hannah/Barbara too – Yogi Bear, Flintstones, etc, etc. Great stuff!
Beetle Bailey to Sarge once, when Sarge was trying to load his ballpoint pen: “Having trouble with your pen, fatty-fingers?” Sarge proceeds to “reason” with Beetle, who ends up lying in a heap on the floor. Beetle comments, “For all that fat those sure are hard fingers!”
Suzie, I feel your pain. When I was in elementary school, we did a unit on Japan. As part of it, we wrote and performed a quasi-Kabuki theater type drama. In it, each character introduces him or herself to the audience. I was honored with a role, the first line of which was “I am The Ugly Man.” You can imagine how well that played in the hallways and on the playground.

Well she did walk right in to that, but Calvin should have kept his mouth closed.

Struck a nerve there. Lucky Calvin got off easily this time.

In all honesty, I doubt that I could pass up a straight line like that either.

Suze, you might want to find another way to phrase that. “I’ll be portraying fat”, The word “Triglyceride” could be used also.

Suzie needs to settle down. After all, it’s not Calvin’s fault she is “fat”…
