    I have a bad feeling that mobs with pitchforks will not only soon be targeting the banks, but also the newly-elected government of just another leftist disguised as a populist.

    To be fair, that’s really Wells Fargo explained and, tangentially, their too-big-to-fail brethren. It’s not banking explained, and certainly not community banking explained. Take it from a retired banker.

    Sadly, most of our fellow citizens would cheer for Pig (of course!) and then vote for Trump, who persuaded them that he is in Pig’s role, and now is laughing his head off at them.

    For some reason, this is not the outcome I expected from allowing the government the authority to regulate banking.

    People should have nothing to with Wells Fargo. That bank needs to go bankrupt.

    Maybe BrassOrchid has a point. Perhaps the government shouldn’t regulate the banks. That way rather than worrying about small time malfeasance, we can worry about the galloping chaos that will ensue with the great likelihood of a major depression instead.

    Since the Anti_Trumpers had to inject him into tis strip:

    Somebody remind me how much Ms. Clinton “earned” from the the banking industries for giving speeches telling them how much she would do for them, while the other mouth was telling the “little people” how she was going to shut the banks down.

    @Whiteheron:

    First, I think it’s funny how conservatives get all bent out of shape about liberals earning money. She got paid to give speeches to private parties. She got paid MORE than conservatives got paid. Seems like good ol’ American enterprise to me.

    Second, no one knows what she said to the banks. Those speeches were private and haven’t been released. They have, however, been “leaked.” So, I guess conservatives can also be considered gullible for thinking that what is leaked is true. But then, you also think Trump is actually going to do everything he promised.

    I’ll defend Wells. They dreamed up a program to allow low-paid employees to earn production bonuses, never dreaming that their employees were criminals who would defraud both bank and public. The only pressure “imposed” was individual greed. The Obama justice department never prosecuted a single defrauder despite constant advisories from the bank, mostly because the crooks were Obama voters.

    When we recently bought our retirement home, I looked for a financing source that would not sell my loan immediately to BoA or Wells Fargo. I never wanted to be under the thumb of one of these empires again, the way they treat their “customers” is absolutely unconscionable. I found a local credit union that has a statewide, local servicer – and I couldn’t be happier.

    Like rat says, you can’t make this stuff up. The strip is satirical, but based on true events – events which make my blood boil.

    Remember when Obama prosecuted the banksters, broke up “Too Big to Fail”, re-regulated Wall Street, and bailed out Main Street? Yeah, me neither. Don’t support banks! Use your local Credit Union. They do everything banks do, except rip you off.

    What’s the big deal here? The solution is obvious enough. Why would anyone still bank there? If the customers walk, as they obviously should, the bank closes. If we are stupid enough to believe that the government can solve all our problems, we deserve to keep having things like this happen.

    The big banks and the governments they control were not happy with Iceland’s solution but the country did recover more quickly than most and left the people a little less likely to elect a Mussolini wannabe to tear the system down.BTW folks… Attacks on Trump do not equate to support for Clinton (or vice versa). Quite a few of us would have preferred to dump both of them.

    I think it’s totally wrong to be charged for withdrawing YOUR OWN MONEY from your bank account.

    Well that’s how it is in the UK. But I think that only happens if you have a credit card.
