I would think the “upscale” aka price hikes to be the problem raising rates and rents all over.

You see we need rooms for the incoming Cubans.

Gentrification drove me from my home apartment of thirty years this last fall.

Boyle Heights and so may other colonias come to mind.

They call it “Progress” (at 3 times the cost).

Ahh…. get your community together and buy up run down properties for the good of the community rather than whine when someone else sees an opportunity to make a profit.
