I read many comic books, also watched television and drew pictures first by copying from them every line and shape. Was very helpful to me.

My 8 year old was watching an “old” movie (from the 80’s) and he was shocked at the tv with no remote, the non-smart landline phone, and the fact that they didn’t have laptops or tablets. It was fun telling him about life before all these screens. “When I was bored I could read, watch whatever was on tv, play with my toys, play board games, or go outside and play. I usually chose to play with my friends outside”. The look on his face after I said that was priceless.

I think nowadays kids are BORN with smartphones. They probably are implanted in the mother’s womb.

We played outside – a LOT! Climbing trees and riding bikes around the neighborhood were favorites. :o) No ropes, no hard hats, no knee pads, no gloves, no elbow pads. Scrapes and bruises were the norm, but we learned what not to do and how to have fun anyway.
