If you’re going for a limerick, Justin, the third line doesn’t scan correctly. It has too many syllables, and it’s not in iambic pentameter. The better way to write it so that it doesn’t destroy the scansion and rhythmic flow of the entire limerick is “He would leave gifts HERE, in this patch most sincere.”
I worked at a network radio station and we were given the opportunity to do a coast to coast daily show. Easy-peasy everyone said, till the manager said give me topics for the next month. The well ran dry after 14 days of proposed shows.
Some people can draw, some can write, fewer can do both, but Everyone is a critic.
Justin, you have two options. Ignore the rabble hurling brickbats from behind the trees or do like Chiickweed, cut off all commentaries. Oh and lets have some more Venus.
It’s sad that McEldowney couldn’t ignore the brickbats and decided to cut off communication on here. Much as I love his strips as well as yours, it was a real disservice to those of us who love his strips. I hope you will not be tempted to do the same.
I’m reminded of the underground comics characters the Freak Brothers eating peyote cactus hoping to have a vision of Mescalito. A big cactus came to life and approached them and they were scared s***less. It was an Indian disguised as a cactus, guarding his land.
There’s a particular Robot Chicken video I’ve always enjoyed that is NSFW (Violence Religion) It’s just one of those over the line humor skits that make a strange kind of sense.

McEldowney did it here but not in other places. He gives an explanation at his web site.

Nice work Justin! That damn kid who acts so queer around All Hallow’s Eve!

I guess the gifts would be for all the good little pumpkins, NOT for Linus!

How does Anansi feel about him throwing spiders around?

Love the concept. Love the idea that, like Santa and the Easter Bunny, he does not work to an audience. If Linus had only known.

Get over it, King Jack (of the O’Lantern dynasty). That kid with the blanket will never give up hope and will be there year after year after year….

Classic. Linus turned into a broken record after 1972.
