The little Sumerian children must have looked cute,

walking home from school in their clay tablet Pilgrim hats….

    carrying their clay-tablet hand-print turkeys.

Not any bit less inaccurate than the mythology we have today.

History is written by the victors

In this case that would be Agnes

Reminds us how unreliable all history is

Doesn’t stop us from citing it as if reliable

The big thig is that Agnes’ history is more entertaining.

The first Thanksgiving happened much further south and in Spanish territory.

    From the Texas Almanac:

A new Thanksgiving tradition has taken root in Texas. El Paso residents now claim the first Thanksgiving in North America. The modern event, first observed in April 1989, commemorates a day of thanksgiving celebrated by Spanish explorer Juan de Oñate and his expedition on April 30, 1598.
