BTW, I talked to my brother in the hospital tonight and he is doing fine after his knee replacement. He will be leaving the hospital in the morning to go to a rehab facility for a week or however long it takes before he’s able to go home again. All your well wishes were a great help!

As always, I am empowered by your support, your nice comments, and your enjoyment of my effort. I usually make a typo in every third word, so typing is a pain in more than one way now. When I was a teacher for 36 years, I hade to be very creative. Finding these pictures and adding comments allows me to use some of that creativity. You can’t just turn it off when you retire, you know.

This kitty’s conscience has just wakened him/her in the middle of the night with a message of regrets.

This black cat has so much catitude it doesn’t need much else to defend itself.

Today’s cute kitten post is a very good excuse for why your homework isn’t done.

A cute kitten post illustrates the lyrics to a popular song of the 70’s.

This picture shows clearly that rules don’t apply to cats.

Question for NEAL: I need your fostering advice..

I have two brothers who are about 8 weeks old now.

I had them on Purina Kitten Chow. They both are little champs at using the litter box. No problem there.

One is a fat little guy and everything is great with him. He weighs over two pounds.

The other one is just over a pound. He has had the runs since the day I got him and he never missed the box.

On Wed, outside of the box on the shower floor, was a very dark, mess with blood in it.

I got him to the good vet (we have 2 and one is not very aggressive in looking for problems).

The vet had him all day so he could have fresh poop to check. That afternoon I picked him up. They said they tested for several things and everything was negative.

He gave me some meds, (Metronidazole) that I give baby twice a day.

Yesterday, there were several big, bloody messes on the shower floor. I called the vet and they had me pick up something else. Sucralfate, that gets dissolved in water in a syringe. He gets that about 45 min before I feed him. They said it’s like Pepto and coast his little tummy.

I also took away the kitten kibble and started them on wet Fancy Feast Kitten food. That started yesterday morning.

This morning (at 7) I went in and no more big, dark, bloody mess. Just the regular yellow-tannish runs.

SO – my question to you is: have you ever run across this sort of issue? If so what was it and what was the solution?

My cousin returned her last foster (from the litter of 7) today, and in return she’s now looking after two very cute rabbits! I just flew back to the UK yesterday so I won’t get to meet them.

Neal and everyone: Update on the baby. Whatever combination of things I’m doing has worked!

NO runs today at all. In fact, his poop is as normal as his brothers’.

I think zippycats hit the nail on the head – there is something in the Purina Kitten Chow that does not agree with him.

If everything is still normal by tomorrow afternoon when Susan is done at PetCo, I will call Lori and see if she is still willing to take the babies. By then he will be down to just one medicine once a day. And, of course, eating the Fancy Feast wet kitten food.

Then I can take the 2 bonded sisters in for a while and get them out of the cage at PetCo and give them some running around time.
