You’d think Garfield would actually grab a midnight snack at this time of the year. How else would you enjoy the fireworks?

Responding to comments from yesterday – ""SunflowerGirl100 said, about 17 hours ago@laughingkittyRemember, sixty is the new forty. So next August, you’ll be turning 40!"

That’s funny, because I like to joke that I’m 39. Jack Benny always claimed to be 39 and if it was good enough for him, it’s good enough for me!

Another comment from yesterday…“RedRoverCameOver said, about 18 hours ago@laughingkittyI was once told by a woman who looked old enough to be Methuselah’s mother, “Don’t get old.”I replied, “Well it sure beats the alternative.”Be happy for everyday you have on this earth. Life is the deadliest activity anyone can engage in, it has a 100% mortality rate.”

I agree with this analogy – getting old does beat the alternative. I tell people that any day you wake up is a good day because it means that you’re still alive.

    One more from yesterday…“AmraLeo said, about 18 hours ago@laughingkittyIt’s just a number…I’m 60 and I sure don’t look or act my age. I’ll be 61 in August, BTW…Every inch a Leo…”

I don’t look my age either – someone yesterday thought I was my brother’s daughter (he’s just 7 years older than me). I don’t always act my age either. No, I don’t think that 60 is old it’s just a number and I don’t fear it. Anyway, I’ll only be 59 in August next year. BTW, I’m a Leo too!

When the dog drops, that signals the new year? I thought the signal was supposed to be when the BALL drops! (Then again, when the ball drops in New York, it’s only 11:00 here in the Midwest).

    Might’ve been a ball-drop joke—except for the surgery …
