“It’s an ornamental ceramic family heirloom moose!” Didn’t that first appear in Plato’s “Republic”?

Alice probably thought it was OK to take the vase out to the sand box since it already had a lot of dust in it.

And here Beni had his hammer all ready to have some fun with the ornamental, ceramic, family heirloom moose

I’m a fan of family heirlooms that are actually useful. After my parents died (they both grew up during the Great Depression) and cleaning out decades of stuff they’d kept, I’m not nearly as fond of family heirlooms as I used to be. Nice to have a few mementos, but too many just become “dust collectors”. Just because an ancestor owned it, doesn’t make it something you have to keep.

Don’t worry Alice, you’re going to inherit it. Then you can do what you like with it.

Hey, Beni, is that hammer a ceramic family heirloom, or did you have some hyperactivity in mind regarding the moose that Alice had sort of purloined from Petey while he was distracted and not really hearing the question to which he agreed?
