Boopsie: Nothing! Nada! Some harmonic convergence! No disorientation! No deja vu! No invitations to join a federation of extraterrestrials! A total bust! B.D.: Boopsie, I tried to tell you. Somewhere in the world people may be getting it on with their divine sparks... but not Palm Springs! Boopsie: I can't understand it. It's on the list of sacred zip codes!

You need to be on a node or convergence of Ley or Dragon lines. Make sure it is of the positive not negative or it will drain your life force and make you ill.

I think this is the last time we see B.D. and Boopsie like this. Of all the ongoing Doonesbury characters, they are the two who show the most growth. I mean they began like this, but a few years later, we will watch them mature as people. So enjoy their silliness while it’s here.

I’m all for alternative lifestyles, alternative belief systems, etc. They make the world a much more interesting place. They also invite scammers, power trippers, going way back to hucksters selling elixirs off the back of wagons, and probably for centuries, if not millennia before that.

That sort of thing is usually up the hill from Palm Springs in Joshua Tree.

They got it all wrong. It was NOT Harmonic Convergence, it was Harmonica Virgins.

Let me put in a plug for a terrific magazine, The Skeptical Inquirer. It takes a gimlet-eyed look at various claims of the paranormal and generally concludes that they’re either well-meaning people who are just deluded or outright scams.
